Katy pregnant with Jim

Hello my Lovely,

Hello my Lovely, welcome to the Journal

They never told us the truth, did they?

They told us birth would be painful, yes—but not that it could be traumatic.

They told us babies would cry, but not that we would too.

They told us to listen to our bodies, and then drowned us out in a sea of protocol and power.

They told us to be grateful. To stay quiet. To get on with it.

But they didn’t tell us the truth about birth.

They didn’t tell us about the blood and the beauty. The rage and the softness.

They didn’t prepare us for how becoming a mother would shake every part of us—mind, body, soul.

So this journal? This is where we tell the truth.

This is where I’ll be sharing the stories we were never told—mine, yours, and the ones that live between us all.

Stories about birth, about mothering, about the aching joy of being a woman in a world that too often forgets how sacred that is.

You’ll find reflections here on:

- Trauma and healing after birth

- The quiet rebellion of rest and self-care

- Book reviews and resources that nourish us

- Feminist fire and why birth is political

- What it means to reclaim our bodies, our choices, our voices

This journal is not just a place to read—it's a place to feel seen.

To remember that you’re not broken, you’re not alone, and you are never too much.

If you're anything like me—perhaps still carrying the echoes of a birth that didn’t go how it should have, still learning how to mother yourself while mothering others—then you are so, so welcome here.

Grab a cuppa. Make a little space. You’re home.

Many blessings,

Katy x
